3 Day Biodiesel Workshop April 4-6, 2008
We have scheduled workshop with one of the premier biodiesel professors in the US....... Maria "Girl Mark" Alovert. Girl Mark has travelled all over the country hosting workshops and providing consultation services to a wide range of non-profits, cooperatives, and production companies.
This class has been designed as a 3-day "crash course" in all things biodiesel. Attendees with litle to no previous experience with biodiesel will learn the basics as well as more advanced throughout the weekend class. The cost will $180 for all three days or $60 for the Friday introductory class alone.
Listed below is a brief synopsis of the event.
Friday, April 4th - Intro to biodiesel (9AM-5PM), basic chemistry, diesel engine processes, titrating, and testing
Saturday, April 5th - System Tricks Day 1 (10AM-4PM), small scale production, reactor design, on-site safety.
Sunday, April 6th - System Tricks Day 2 (10AM-4PM), batch troubleshooting, methanol recovery, water washing, etc.
The introductory class on Friday is highly recommended for inexperienced students. The goal of the workshop is to provide our members with the basic skills that will be necessary to produce high quality fuel at the Winnabow production facility.
